Patented Equilibrium Architecture Takes the Stage at Korea Blockchain Week as Whisper Unveils Veria, Targeting Q1 2027 Mainnet Launch

Paulus J. Lee, Founder and Chairman of Whisper and Veria alongside being co-inventor of the patented Equilibrium blockchain framework (US Patent No. 12,586,064 B2, registered under his legal name, Jung Geun Lee), took the stage at Korea Blockchain Week (KBW) on September 30, 2026. During his address titled “Satoshi’s Dream? Mission Possible,” he introduced Veria, a public blockchain ecosystem designed to deliver security, scalability, and decentralization. Veria is set to act as the foundational mainnet for Whisper, the organization’s consumer super app, with an anticipated mainnet debut in Q1 2027.

The presentation took place on the BitGo Stage at KBW before an audience numbering in the hundreds. The venue also hosted a variety of earlier presentations, featuring keynote speeches, panels, and a fireside chat.

Notable moments included a keynote address by South Korean National Assembly member Byoungdeok Min, who spoke on “Korea’s Digital Asset Policy Moment.” Additionally, SungGuan Yun, Director General of the Office of Digital Currency at the Bank of Korea, participated in a fireside chat addressing “Digital Currency and the Future Monetary System: Korea’s Next Architecture.”

Veria utilizes the architecture outlined in Lee’s patent, featuring a non-competitive consensus mechanism combined with a micro-chain structure. This setup allows distinct operations—such as messaging, payments, gaming, and exchanges—to operate on isolated chains instead of fighting for block space on a single network. Previously, the development team tested this foundational technology for real-time on-chain transactions at the Jeju Food and Wine Festival and evaluated consensus validation on resource-constrained devices like a Raspberry Pi.

Reflecting on the event, Lee remarked:

“Presenting a commercially viable blockchain use case at Korea Blockchain Week was genuinely exciting for us. Satoshi’s dream doesn’t have to stay a dream. We hope to build an all-new Web3 ecosystem together, one that’s widely accepted by the public, not just by the industry.”

Addressing current industry conditions, he further noted:

“This is the right moment to help break the current deadlock in the market. The timing to bring real, commercially viable infrastructure forward couldn’t be better.”
